The newborn stage is a blur of emotions, and you’ll feel more exhausted than ever. It’s A LOT a lot, and it’s oh so beautiful.
The soft, sweet snuggles. The tiny baby toes & the grip of the littlest fingers. The way baby looks at you as you become the main character of each other’s lives.
These first moments are so precious, and you can’t get them back. You do your best to savor each moment, but yeah - you’re tired, and you’re often in survival mode.

Newborn sessions allow you to put all the I-should-probably-be-doing-this tasks on the backburner and truly let yourself relax with your sweet baby & family. We focus on the connection between your new baby & all family members present, and it’s often a very peaceful time of togetherness. Yes - diaper changes, fussy babies, and nursing/bottle breaks sometimes happen… but the guidance I share with you ahead of time helps us choose a session time when baby will likely be sleepy & content. Ultimately, I’m there to document your new life as it is - no expectation to be or do anything aside from what’s true to who you & your family are.

Our photo reveal & ordering appointment will typically take place 1 week after the session. This is when you get to see the photo proofs for the first time, and we’ll review your ordering options & make sure all your questions are answered! If you need some more time to make final decisions about what photos or artwork to order, your order will be due 1 week after that so I can start getting everything ready for you.
A downloadable online gallery will be shared soon after ordering. Artwork will be delivered to you within 2-6 weeks of ordering, depending on the amount of design work needed and current turnaround times with my professional printing lab.

I know we always want our little ones to be on their best behavior, but I want you to let ME worry about your kids during the session. You get a break for once!
Please do your best to keep smiling and remain calm, and your kids will often feed off your energy. Our sessions aren’t about bribery or manipulation to get the photos we want - they’re about having fun, rolling with the punches, and making the most out of the energy your kids have! That goes for family sessions and newborn sessions alike.
As a former K-12 educator and a mama myself, I’m well-versed in connecting with kiddos of all ages and incorporating little activities to bring out their amazing personalities. We’ll often change poses/types of interactions if a child isn’t into it so we can keep it playful and get great images that reflect this time in your lives beautifully.
I believe photos come alive when we hold them in our hands! My job isn’t done until I’ve provided you with a finished product, so that you can quickly and easily enjoy your photos in your home and one day pass them on to your kids. Our memories aren’t meant to live on a hard drive - they’re meant to be displayed around your home & bring joy daily.
You get the best of both worlds here! You’re welcome to use your high-resolution digital files for any print needs on your own, and I’m here to help with any archival-quality heirloom artwork you may be interested in. We can chat about using your artwork credit toward albums, wall art, mounted prints, etc., or we can keep it simple by sticking with the included 4x6” premium prints.
