Hello, friends!
Allow me to introduce you to Jayne, Michael, Colin, and Mary Kate! Jayne and Michael had the last-minute thought to get some photos taken while their adult children were in town over the holidays last year, and Jayne wasn’t sure she’d be able to find anyone to help them out before Colin and Mary Kate headed back home to NYC. I am so thankful that she found me on Yelp and that we got to enjoy a session together on New Year’s Eve!
Jayne & Michael – Durham, NC Family Photographer
at the American Tobacco Campus
Since they were going for a modern, industrial feel for their photos, Jayne recommended walking around the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham for their family session. It’s such a neat area with lots of great photo locations!
I enjoyed exploring with them (well, letting them show me around since they’d been there before!) and capturing some sweet photos. Can’t forget photos of just the parents during a family session!
For real – so many awesome places for a photo op! I loved this tall staircase as a backdrop… we only had to wait for one guy walking his dog to come down the stairs, if my memory serves me correctly 🙂
They’re such a sweet, kind family! They rocked those smiles the whole session.
I also enjoyed getting together with Jayne the week after their session so she could view their edited photos and pick out what photo art she wanted to order!
She chose a set of 5 prints for themselves and to share – a couple for them, one for each of their kids, and one for Jayne’s sister. I love how sets of prints allow you to keep some and share some! She also ordered a large gallery image, which looks small in the big space above my couch in the photo but complements their living room so well! Their home is decorated so beautifully, and it makes me so excited that photo art from their session now adorns their walls, too.
Jayne & Michael’s session was one of two that I had on New Year’s Eve – closing out 2018 with two sessions on the same day felt awesome! Be sure to check out Oliver’s 1 year session with Maribeth & Robert if you haven’t yet!
Thank you, Jayne & Michael, for trusting me with your photos, and thank YOU for joining me on the blog today! If you’ve got family coming to town, a baby on the way, graduation in a few months, or a fresh engagement ring on your finger, let’s get in touch about scheduling a session or your wedding photography! I’m here for all your photo needs, and I strive to make photography accessible to all through my pay-what-you-can system.
Thank you again, and I hope to see you here again in the next couple weeks!
In light & love,
Kelly
