Hello everyone!
Wherever you are, I hope you have fared well recently with Hurricane Florence, Tropical Storm Gordon, and whatever else Mother Nature & life has thrown your way. If you’re in need of help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to those around you – God blesses us with our people to support each other!
Last week I shared some of my favorite photos from our Denver, Portland, and Seattle vacation – if you’ve seen the post, you know I had a lot of favorites. 🙂 While we were in Portland, we stayed with our friends Kate & Zach and their little ones. We loved seeing their boys again, and we got to meet their new little girl, Journey!
Journey was three months old at the time, just starting to smile (mostly when looking in a mirror!) and becoming more expressive. When Kate asked me to take a few photos of her so they could add to their photo wall, I was ALL ABOUT IT and got so excited to capture these cute moments for them!
Of course, we couldn’t stop at just a few photos of this cutie & I ended up snapping a bunch more… Enjoy!
Journey – Portland Outdoor Baby Photography
For obvious reasons, Kate likes to say, “POWERRR TO THE PEOPLLLE!” when Journey sticks her fist up like this (below). I love that early empowerment – you go, Journey girl!
Look at those BABY BLUES!
I love the floral vibe here with her dress and the dandelions in the background <3
Had to get Momma in on the photo action <3 Capturing interactions between family members is my favorite! This also helps present a better idea of just how little Journey is right now!
The above photo MIGHT be foreshadowing what is to come in later teenage years… “Awww, MOM…!”
By the way, these photos were taken in Kate & Zach’s backyard & side yard. No studio or park necessary to capture precious memories.
YES, give a dandelion to the baby in the floral dress. Kate has the best ideas – I’m not being sarcastic, and I need to channel my inner “Kate” for my future sessions! 🙂
Kate & Zach have a photo of each of the boys on their wall, and they chose the perfect one of Journey to order a photo print of to add to their collection. Kate also sent a print to each of Journey’s grandmothers <3 So sweet! I love it when y’all share the love!!
Ahh, another afternoon spent looking at photos of cute babies. 🙂 Yes, friends, I could get used to this.
College graduates aren’t quite babies anymore, but I love photographing them, too — check out Maggie’s Meredith College senior session if you missed it!
I’ll see you again next week for photos from a styled wedding shoot I was a part of recently! There’s a sneak peek of it on Instagram and Facebook.
However recent weather may have affected you recently, as we decompress and clean up from crazy rain & wind in the coming days, take a moment to consider all you have to be thankful for. How has God blessed you recently?
In light & love,
Kelly
