Hello friends!
Anyone else ready for spring?! We’re in a mid-February cold snap here with on & off weeks of rain and cold that is keeping us inside – not ideal when we have a bundle-of-energy toddler! We’re looking forward to the days of sunny skies, warm air, and blooming flowers to discover and enjoy. I feel a sense of new life when spring arrives, and I am ready!
I was so happy to meet Kristen and James back in October as they prepared to welcome their own little bundle of new life – a baby girl!

Raleigh Maternity Session with Dogs
Hillsborough, NC Riverwalk
When I first spoke with Kristen on our phone consultation, it was so nice getting to know her and hearing her excitement around welcoming their baby soon! Since I now have a little one of my own (who just turned 18 months old – whaaat?), I love being able to relate to mamas-to-be who have that feeling of anticipation, not knowing how things will be but excited nonetheless. While we get to know each other, our conversations often even go toward talking about weird stuff that happens during pregnancy – moms understand, and I feel like TMI is out the window when you go through pregnancy and birth!
We met at the Riverwalk in Hillsborough, NC for their maternity session, and their dogs even joined us for the first bit! I love welcoming the whole family to be part of maternity sessions, regardless of if your toddlers are dogs or humans 🙂

Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating when I post maternity photos after I’ve already met and photographed the couple’s sweet baby – like I have a secret I’m not sharing yet! I met sweet baby Z early December, and have no fear, I will be sharing their lifestyle newborn session with you soon.
Kristen & James are investing in the New Life Collection, which is the best way to document your baby’s growth in their first year of life! They will receive prints of their favorite photos throughout their maternity, newborn, 6-month, and 1-year sessions, and the heirloom-quality keepsake album I design for them at the end of all sessions will showcase baby girl’s growth throughout her whole first year. We don’t want her to grow up too fast, but I’m already looking forward to putting that together for them and giving them a way to relive her first year just by turning the pages.
