Hunter – First Communion Portrait Photography – Chapel Hill, NC

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re doing well today! Thanks for taking a break from your busy life to join me on the blog!

Earlier this year I got to capture some portraits of a fun & sweet boy and his family as he was about to celebrate his first communion – meet Hunter!

Hunter – First Communion Portrait Photography – Chapel Hill, NC
The Catholic Community of St. Thomas More

I was excited when his mom asked me about the session, because this felt like such a unique opportunity! We met at their church, the Catholic Community of St. Thomas More, and I was so thankful to see allll the beautiful natural light that their sanctuary has!

I also love how little time it took for Hunter’s fun personality to start shining through. 🙂 Gotta have some funny faces mixed in with the serious ones for Mom!

Speaking of whom – here’s Mom! This is Barbara-Ann, and further down a bit we see Hunter’s sister, his grandmother, and his soon-to-be step-dad!

Again, I love how much natural light this sanctuary has! It made for perfect back-lighting!

Barbara-Ann had her own first communion portraits taken by a stained glass window, so it was neat to carry on that tradition with the stained glass window in this separate prayer room. Hunter also really wanted a photo holding his rosary – love it!

After photos at the church, we headed over to a nearby park and took some engagement photos for Barbara-Ann and Scott, since he had recently proposed! Stay tuned for their engagement photos in the next blog post, and here’s one with the family in the park in the meantime! Don’t they look good?! Hopefully we can take photos with Scott’s son in the group soon, too!

Barbara-Ann did a great job ordering photo art that reflects the celebration of Hunter’s first communion AND her engagement to Scott. What a a great idea to get photos for both in one session!

She ordered first communion photo invitations, prints, and wallet prints with the first communion portraits. I think everything turned out beautifully!!

She also ordered a couple prints and a gallery image with engagement photos! They plan to put the gallery image on a wall right by where they spend a lot of time sitting and relaxing in their home. I thought that was super sweet and a great idea! I’ll include a photo of the gallery image in my blog post next time!

Thanks again for everything, Barbara-Ann (and family)! I’m excited to share more next time!

We’ve had lots of celebrations around here recently! Be sure to see Daisy’s grad school graduation photos from NC State’s campus, if you haven’t already!

Do you have something to celebrate, too?! Whether something special is coming up or you’d just like to carve out some time to commemorate this time in life, I’d love to capture some moments for you.
