Hello, friends!
Whoever you are and wherever you are, I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving last week! The year just won’t slow down, so I’m trying to carve a few moments here and there to think about what I’m grateful for and intentionally give thanks. I use that and photography to cherish the present moment before it’s gone!
I had my mini-session day a couple weekends ago, and we had a beautiful fall morning! Historic Oak View County Park gave us beautiful autumn leaves and various locations that made for perfect backdrops. Our mini-sessions were only 20 minutes long, but it was plenty of time to cherish the here & now and get some beautiful photos!
Today I’m sharing the first mini-session from that day, and the rest will follow in the next couple weeks! Be sure to see peeks at the photo art they got at the end of the post 🙂
Melissa & Jonathan – Raleigh Family Photography
I met Melissa & Jonathan through InterVaristy at JMU, and I was excited when I learned that they’d be moving down to Durham last year! Jonathan is in his medical residency right now, so he’s in a busy season of balancing long work hours with time at home. From what I can see, he’s doing a great job with that balance!
Daniel was born in May, adding to the fun! He’s as cute as can be, and I was so happy to meet him when Melissa & I got together to catch up over lunch the week before our session.
I loved spending this time with the Barretts. Enjoy the photos!
Daniel was very interested in (eating) the pretty leaves 🙂
I love all this autumn-inspired plaid!
Since I care so much about putting tangible photos in my clients’ hands, I included photo art with each of my mini-sessions, just like I do for all of my other sessions.
Clients received 5 prints and their choice of 25 Christmas cards or an 11×14” gallery image.
Some photo art orders have been delivered, and others are currently on their way from the print lab!
Melissa & Jonathan ordered prints and Christmas cards, and I love how everything turned out! The card template they chose with the rose gold foil on the front worked perfectly with the photos they chose.
Thank you so much for investing in a session, Melissa & Jonathan! I’ve loved reconnecting, and I hope you enjoy all your photo art for years to come 🙂
And thank you, dear readers, for following along! Want to see another 6 month old? See Phoebe’s 6 month session here!
Interested in capturing memories with your loved ones this holiday season, or need some fun headshots? Contact me here to book a session! I’m striving to make photography accessible to all through pay-what-you-can photography sessions, so please do not let a small budget prevent you from reaching out. If budget isn’t an issue, consider paying it forward for those who typically would not be able to afford professional photography! More details about this soon.
Thank you again, and I hope you’re getting in the holiday spirit as much as I am!
In light & love,
Kelly
